It's All About the Sushi Baby!

Sushi is one of our very popular specialties and we understand how difficult it is just to pick out one roll out of all of our options. So today we are here to help lead you in the right direction. The next time you’re at Harbor Docks for ladies night and you’re struggling with your sushi decision, you’ll be ready and prepared to take on our decadent variety of sushi options. We know it’s just a matter of a meal, but in this day and age whatever you put in your mouth should be fabulous and delicious.

One of our most popular rolls at Harbor Docks is the Backdown Roll. This popular dish is stuffed with fresh shrimp, cream cheese, fried tempura and cucumber. Spicy sauce is drizzled over each roll then topped with fresh Tuna, avocado and finished with krab salad. This decadent sushi roll will leave you full and happy but still wanting more. No one ever regrets this delicious choice.

Another popular roll is the D.A.T., which is a little more simple than the Backdown Roll but never disappoints. This one is filled with tuna, avocado and green onion then topped with spicy sauce. It’s quaint yet full of flavor and delectable deliciousness.

And of course we always recommend all of our customers to try our appetizers like seaweed salad, miso soup or edamame.

Hopefully the next time you order sushi with us, you’ll be prepared to take on some of our most famous rolls. See you soon!

Thai at Harbor Docks

We’re known for serving some of the freshest seafood in the area, but did you know we are also known for serving some of the best Thai dishes in Destin? Who says you can’t be culinary gifted students?!

So exceptional and divine, our Thai dishes are only served during lunch from 11am – 3pm seven days a week. We offer various types, tastes and styles of Thai feasts so that you can cure that craving with one lunch sitting on our patio overlooking the harbor! Our famed Thai dishes are fried rice, stir fry, Pad Thai and noodle soup. Each dish is served with spring rolls and a choice of chicken, shrimp, pork, beef or a combination of both.

One of our customers’ favorite dishes is the fresh shrimp Pad Thai.  Pad Thai was voted number five on the World’s 50 Most Delicious Foods poll by CNN Go in 2011. You can bet that our Pad Thai should and hopefully one day will be in the running! (Get to voting!)

So next time you’re out for lunch, stop by Harbor Docks and indulge that inner Thai craving.

The Scoop On Our Corned Beef Hash

Corned beef hash. What is it exactly? Where does it come from? Why is it so freaking good? Today we are here to tell you a little about one of our customers’ favorite breakfast dishes and what makes it so appetizing!

This delicious breakfast item was originally created in Northern England as a traditional quick and cheap dish. Ingredients were not expensive so this dish was extremely popular during WWI & WWII. Corned beef has recently made a huge comeback and is served now in restaurants worldwide.

The usual ingredients include diced meat, potatoes and spices mixed together. But here at Harbor Docks, we try to spice it up for you just a little. Our dish is combined with corned beef topped with crisp hash browns. On top of that are two over easy fried eggs and hollandaise sauce. YUM!

This is one of our customer’s favorite items on the menu and we love it too. And for all you dedicated corned beef hash lovers, national corned beef hash day is on September 27th.

Gulf To Table

Here at Harbor Docks, we pride ourselves on our fresh gulf to table seafood, friendly nature and just overall great atmosphere for Destin locals and tourists alike.  However, our pride truly remains in the quality of food we serve. We pride ourselves on this outstanding quality of product as well as educating our customers about fresh local fish. Check out our new commercial that is now airing on Cox TV about our local fresh fish and what it means to us to be a seafood market.

To give you a little insight into the world of “fresh fish” here are some jawdropping facts. Although we’re surrounded by salty water, 90% of Florida’s seafood will be imported from other countries. According to Oceana, 50% of the tuna sold last year was mislabeled. The majority of “tilapia” sold in the United States is raised in Vietnam & Thailand. These fish are almost always fed pig feces. A shocking number of 93% of delicious red snapper was mislabeled last year. So be cautious, because those snapper throats you just ordered? Well they may not be snapper. Scary.

So how can you be sure you are getting fresh seafood? We’re an excellent place to start. At Harbor Docks, we bring the gulf to the table by catching our own fish.  We also send our fresh fish to a number of restaurants that serve our fresh local flavor.

So come on in and rest assured that you’ll not only enjoy our laid-back atmosphere but when you order flounder.. you’ll be eating flounder.
